This Pastor Has Nothing to Say

Saying Goodbye

Since United Methodist pastors move every five years on the average, one thing most of us become good at is saying goodbye.  However, it is usually us saying that as we prepare to move on to our next appointment at a different church.  Occasionally, though, we have to...

Rest

It really is true that sometimes you need a vacation to recover from your vacation.  That is where I have existed this week.  My husband and I spent last week in sunny Florida trying to be big kids at the Disney parks in Orlando.  We enjoyed our time away, but we...

3/31/2021 Why?

Why?  That is a question I heard a lot this morning as I served as part of a team of people to bring grief counseling services to our junior high students upon the loss of a classmate in a house fire yesterday.  Why?  Why her?  She was just nice.  Why her?  She had...

No this is not about a $15 minimum wage or the COLA adjustment to my husband's pension.  It is just where my mind went today.  Last night I found myself complaining to my husband about the cost of a new medication that I now must take as a result of cancer treatment. ...

03/18/2021 Sort of…

I am on vacation...sort of.  I have one of my dearest friends spending some time with me (yes, we are both fully Covid-vaccinated) over spring break, so I have taken the week off.  However, as she is leaving tomorrow and it is also Lent - one of the most important...

March 3, 2021

Thanksgiving Isn't Just in November... I have been fortunate enough this week to have some good news come on several different fronts.  These were all things that I prayed for for days before the news came. Oh, I always remembered in my prayers during those days to...

About the Author

My name is Koreen Guillermo.  I am an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church.  I am currently serving as the pastor at First United Methodist Church in Deming, New Mexico.  Outside of church I like to spend time with my husband, our kids, our two precious and also adorable grandkids (yes, I am a bit prejudiced), and our four dogs.  I also like reading and crafty things like sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, and crocheting.

I hope you enjoy reading these tidbits from my thoughts.  I also hope they bring a little bit of Jesus to brighten your day.
